TimeSplitters
Timesplitters rocks the PS2 with guns blazing - more than twenty of them.
When it's coming to Japan: 2001
When it's coming to the US: October 30, 2000
What's the deal: A misfit band of heroes and villains drawn together to fight an ageless, shared foe -- essentially the perfect set up for first person mass destruction.
Why we're excited: Gameplay from the Goldeneye gang, two dozen unique characters and environments, and over twenty ways to lay down the law. A rock solid sixty frames per second, even during four player split screen, guarantees that players won't miss a single shiny spent shell.
Potential Problems: Although there isn't anything resembling a final build floating around yet, early looks were a mixed bag. The speed is blistering but the actual textures and graphics don't look overly impressive for a PS2 title. Hopefully this will change before the final version but there's not much time left since word in the industry is launch games have to be into Sony Q&A by the end of August.
Interest level (out of ten): 7

MGS 2
More shots of the most anticipated game for PS2.
When it's coming to Japan: 2001
When it's coming to the US: 2001
What's the deal: The sequel to one of the greatest console games ever made.
Why we're excited: Stealth, intrigue, espionage, romance, action, Metal Gear Solid had it all. The sequel looks better in every way.
Potential Problems: Microsoft is rumored to move in and attempt to tak the franchise away from Sony. Beyond that long shot we can't see any problems.
Interest level (out of ten): 10
